Hurra we made fried sandwiches

Hurra we made fried sandwiches. Fried sandwiches are some of the best. We love them. But they do take a bit of time to make. So we turn it into a family event. We all sit together in the kitchen and prepare everything. It’s so much better than one person standing alone in the kitchen and it’s really a lot of fun. So get yourselves a glas of wine and off you go (adults only, of course).

My husband is the chef with fried sandwiches. He fries up the onions and garlic, cooks down the pulled chicken with bbq-sauce and heats the salami. Once the sandwiches are put together he fries them in a pan. Oh, they are sooo yummy. The best part is, we always make enough for leftovers for the next day.

Depending on how many people and how many sandwiches per person you need at least one loaf of toast bread, whole wheat. Then decide on the meats and cheeses, the extras and the condiments.

To start out with you have to cut the onions in rings and fry them up. Do the same with the garlic except it should be minced. Then prepare the meats. We fry up the pulled chicken with some bbq-sauce – very tasty, yum. Also fry the salami lightly in slices or strips.

Now it is time to build the sandwiches. Prep the insides of the bread with your favorite condiments. We use mustard, pesto and mayo and sometimes a little ketchup. Then put the meats and cheese(s) on and close the sandwich (condiment side inside).

Time to fry these yummies. Use a little oil in the pan and put the sandwich in. Brush some oil on the top so you don’t need to add it when you turn them over. Fry until they are golden brown. Keep them warm in the oven.
