Christmas is over, but winter is still here – Turning X-mas decoration into Winter decoration.
Yes, Christmas is over, but we still have a couple of months of winter ahead of us. Everything is looking dreary after taking down the glitzy and shiny x-mas decorations? Well, there is only one thing to do: Keep on decorating to stay cozy and to brighten up those winter days.
Some x-mas decoration can easily be turned into winter decoration by removing everything red and all the specifically Christmassy ornaments.
Now you can add greens and browns and for the icy look silver and blue-ish hues. Snowflakes of any size are great as are pine cones. I also like mini-mittens and of course snowmen. Also keep those candles lit!
A candle in a mason jar is quicklyset up and looks great. Once the wax starts to flow down it looks a little bit like snow. Perfect for the winter decoration.
Here is an example where I decorated the sock snowmen with a large snowflake. Looks very winter-y.
And I always like the mini-mittens. You can easily crochet or knit them.
A really nice idea are these light-trees. They can be used for any season and it is easy to decorate it for winter. Little sledding ornaments and some starts do the trick. Add anything else you like.
Also the different crocheted amigurumi are great for winter decorating. Here you see the two little Rudi cuties.
And don’t forget the bottle art lamps. Just use the winter motives and enjoy the glow.
