Instructions
Pie Filling
Peel and core the apples and cut them into cubes, about 4 cups. Drizzle the apple cubes with lime or lemon juice to prevent them turning brown.
Mix the cornstarch in a glas with the water.
Melt the butter in a deeper pot and add the sugar, the spices, the dissolved cornstarch and the water. Stir well.
Now add the apple cubes and bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat. Stir regularly.
Lower the heat and let the mixture simmer until the apples are soft. Keep stirring regularly.
Put mixture aside and let it cool.
Cake
In a bowl mix together all the dry ingredients with the spices and add the melted butter and milk. Mix well.
Take half the dough and put it in a 9x13 pan. Flatten it evenly.
Bake in preheated oven 350°F for 10min or until golden brown.
Remove from oven and top with apple pie filling.
Crumble the remaining dough on top and bake for 30min or until golden brown.
